My first project is a home server in the form of a mini-desktop-pc. The goals of this project are:
- a skill building exercise for learning about virtualization and networking.
- to do fun things like host gaming servers and discord bots for my friends.
I am sure the utility of Toothless will develop over time but lets take a look at the hardware:
- Asrock Deskmini X300W Case (with motherboard and power supply)
- AMD Ryzen 5 5600G Processor (APU)
- 16GB (2x8GB) Crucial RAM @ 2666 Mhz
- 1TB M.2 NVME SSD
The assembly process for this powerful little machine was pretty straightforward; with the requisite amount of jerry-rigging for any DIY project of course. Below is some amateur photo documentation.
